Lying (2006)

dir. M Blash

The film made its debut at the Cannes Director’s Fortnight in 2006, starring Chloë Sevigny, Jena Malone and LeeLee Sobieski. This trailer feels so wonderfully dreamy and present at the same time.

A dear friend of mine has a screener and I’m counting the minutes until we watch it.

Blash is the filmmaker responsible for those Levi’s Go Forth ads the world is singing about.

ooh i love those Levi ads too actually, and the John Maus song in this trailer

Yes please, I want to see this and I can’t help but mention that the Levi’s ads were, I can say with 98% certainty, filmed in Portland (aka the greatest city on earth). Also, I love Walt Whitman and that was some pretty clever marketing, using his poem in the ad. Walt may not have approved of his poetry being used to sell jeans, but at least people get to treat their ears to a mighty fine poem….
